The budget
committee is working on a 12-month budget for the fiscal year, beginning
July 1, 2010 through June 30, 2011. A proposed budget was presented to open
forums the weekend of June 20th and 21st. A final
draft will be voted on at the June 29, 2010 Voters’ Meeting. We look
forward to a good turnout for this important voters’ meeting.
- David Bergquist, Finance Elder -
We've had several requests to make available automatic
withdrawal for faithful regular giving. If you would like to enroll in this
program, please contact the office at 682-7377. It only requires a
cancelled check and filling out 3 lines on a form provided by our bank.
God bless all of us in the grace of giving, so that we can express to our
Lord what is really important and that the ministry he's entrusted to us may
continue to grow.

2010/2009 Worship Attendance Comparison
The budget
committee is working on a 12 month budget for the fiscal year, beginning
July 1, 2010 through June 30, 2011. The budget will be presented to open
forums in the middle of June, and a final draft will be brought to the June
Voter’s Meeting. We are looking for a good turnout for this important
meeting.
The Lord has richly blessed many of us, even in these uncertain economic
times. Please ask the Lord to bless the planning of our leadership as
we go through the budget process and seek to adopt a budget for the
2010-2011 fiscal year.
Counting Committee
Various volunteers of our congregation count the
offerings on a weekly basis. Currently we have 3 sets of volunteers who
count for a month or two at a time. They prove the cash and checks to the
amounts on the individual envelopes and record the donations on record
sheets under the member's name. Reports from these donations are then given
to Pastor and the Treasurer, along with the attendance count for the
services, organists, and if we had any guest speakers.
More volunteers are always welcome. Contact Dave
Bergquist if you are interested.

Property Report:
(David Hammel)
I wish to
thank all of the members of Grace who helped on our “Church Clean-Up Work
Day” this past May 15th. If I tried to list all of the members
who helped, I surely would forget someone. So, thanks to all of you! It is
very much appreciated!
Property Gift Received
Coordinating Council: Pastor
The Northern Wisconsin Produce Company (Lindemann
family) has given Grace a gift of $6000 to be used as follows: To repair
the drainage issues on the south side of the church and to correct the
access issues with the NE/SE entrances to the chapel.
Thank You to Tom and Alisha Fagan and their friend and fellow member,
David Hansen for the cordless microphone they purchased for our use here at
church.
Cleaning Committee
We do not
have a regular cleaning committee for church and school. I make calls every
month for someone to vacuum the sanctuary and fellowship halls. If you
would like to be called to help with this (usually one weekend a month)
please let me know.
Our
cleaning of the church and school are on a voluntary basis. The preschool
teachers take it upon themselves to keep the kitchen, bathrooms, and west
hallway clean and vacuumed as needed. We still need help at least twice a
year when the kitchen and preschool room floors need a good cleaning and
waxing. There is also general cleaning done every May on our church spring
clean-up day which was recently held on May 15th.
Also,
if you happen to use the church’s kitchen and/or fellowship hall for
personal activities, please clean up after yourselves when you are
finished. As I stated above, it is everyone’s responsibility to keep the
church and school as clean as possible since we do not have a paid staff to
do so. THANK YOU FOR YOUR COOPERATION! My phone number is 683-3760 to call
to volunteer or if you have any comments about the cleaning.
Wish List
There is a list being generated for non-budgeted items
that are needed for our facility that members would be wiling to purchase or
contribute to the cost of purchasing.
We are in need of an OSHA approved storage cabinet for our paint and
supplies. The cost of the cabinet is $600. Anyone interested in purchasing
or contributing to this item should contact Jack at 684-8636
We are looking for a "tract rack" to put all our flyers and news
from our missions and high school and other upcoming events.
We are also considering adding to our choir efforts with the aid of
bells. Anyone interested should contact Erin Kolar.

Outreach Report
(Jay Ott)
As is
outlined in our vision document in mission work, outreach is the number one
priority here at Grace. It is that time of year as the weather gets warmer
to begin canvassing of our corner of Manitowoc. We will do this one evening
a week through the summer and early fall. We will pick an evening that
works best for everyone. Please consider volunteering for this rewarding
opportunity. This is a great way to show your love for our Lord, and if you
talk to anyone who has already done this, you will find out how rewarding an
experience this can be.
We're still
looking for help with the tract rack, either making one or donating towards
the purchase of one.
Our website
continues to grow. Check it out at www.gracelutheran-church.com. You will
be pleasantly surprised.
Hopefully
in the near future you will see a new logo used here at Grace. I think it
is one that is more current and reflects the spirit of what we are here. I
welcome any comments, pro or con. Please call me at 686-0872.
