At Grace, our beliefs are firmly grounded in the unchanging truth of God’s Word and the saving work of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Below is a summary of the core teachings that shape our faith, worship, and mission.
We believe the Bible is the inspired, inerrant, and infallible Word of God. It is not merely a book written by men, but the very Word of God, given through human writers by the guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is the only source and final authority for everything we teach, believe, and practice.
“All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness.”
– 2 Timothy 3:16
We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—equal in power, majesty, and glory. This mystery of the Trinity is a foundational truth of the Christian faith.
“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.”
– Matthew 28:19
We believe that salvation is God’s free gift of grace—not something we earn or deserve. Every human being is born sinful and separated from God. But because of His deep love for us, God sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to live a perfect life in our place, die on the cross for our sins, and rise again to give us eternal life.
We are saved by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone.
Faith itself is a gift from the Holy Spirit, who works through the Gospel in Word and Sacrament.
“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God.”
– Ephesians 2:8“But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
– Romans 5:8
We believe that God's Word contains both Law and Gospel. The Law reveals God’s holy will, shows us our sin, and points to our need for a Savior. The Gospel is the good news that Jesus has done everything necessary for our forgiveness and eternal life. These two teachings are at the heart of every sermon and every message we proclaim.
“For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.”
– John 1:17“The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
– Romans 6:23
We believe in the Sacraments as means of grace, through which God gives us His promises:
Baptism is for all people, including infants. Through it, God washes away sin, creates faith, and adopts us into His family.
“Peter replied, ‘Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.’”
– Acts 2:38“He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit.”
– Titus 3:5
The Lord’s Supper (Holy Communion) is more than a symbolic meal. Jesus truly gives us His body and blood along with the bread and wine for the forgiveness of sins and the strengthening of our faith.
“This is my body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of me... This cup is the new covenant in my blood; do this, whenever you drink it, in remembrance of me.”
– 1 Corinthians 11:24–25
We invite those who are united in our beliefs through instruction and confession of faith to join us in the Lord’s Supper.
We believe the Holy Christian Church is made up of all believers everywhere who trust in Christ as their Savior. Locally, we gather as a congregation to worship, grow in the Word, receive the Sacraments, and encourage one another in faith and good works.
Our church is not perfect—but our Savior is, and in Him, we find unity and purpose.
“Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it.”
– 1 Corinthians 12:27“Let us not give up meeting together... but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.”
– Hebrews 10:25
We believe that true Christian fellowship is based on complete unity in doctrine and practice. Out of love for God’s Word and each other, we seek to practice what Scripture calls "walking together" (from the Latin word synod).
For this reason, we join in church fellowship—including joint worship, communion, and ministry efforts—only with those who publicly confess and teach the same biblical truths. This is not to be exclusive or unkind, but rather to remain faithful to the Word and preserve unity of faith.
"I appeal to you, brothers and sisters... that all of you agree with one another in what you say and that there be no divisions among you."
– 1 Corinthians 1:10
Our mission is simple and joyful:
To know Jesus, to grow in His Word, and to go with His love.
We are part of the worldwide mission of the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod (WELS), proclaiming Christ crucified and risen, and making disciples of all nations.
